讲座内容：The Question of Authority（权威问题）
Abstract: Whether one is looking at questions of politics―and the exercising of raw power―or of culture and the formation of signifiers that matter in people’s lives, the question of authority and who wields it is at the center of the human condition. This paper examines the complicated mechanisms of establishing and transmitting authority, especially in state structures.
主讲人简介：
Joel Migdal教授是国家理论，尤其是国家社会关系理论的代表性人物。他提出的“社会中的国家”理论突破了传统的国家观，打破了国家和社会的界限并将二者的互动纳入分析，提出了国家社会相互赋权(mutual empowerment)和相互形构(mutual transformation)的概念，对学界产生了重要影响。
